Pegasus J. Crawford
Pegasus is the creator of Duel Monsters and the owner of the company Industrial Illusions. Personality wise he can be a bit childish. He's still into cartoons and his cards such as Blue Eyes Toon Dragon shows that. I love when he played that against Kaiba. BETD is so adorable and Kaiba looks so pissed to see his favorite dragon turned into a toon.
Pegasus as a kid met a girl named Cyndia at a party held by his father. He liked her right away and the feeling was mutual. As an adult she inspired him to paint and he eventually asked her to marry him. Unfortunately Cyndia died of a fatal disease. She died when they were 17. Pegasus was distraught over her death. He lost his inspiration to paint and traveled to Egypt to study reincarnation in the hope of bringing Cyndia back. There he met Shaadi. Shaadi told him not to follow him but Pegasus did anyway. Shaadi took the Millennium eye from the crypt and shoved it into Pegasus face. Pegasus didn't descend into darkness and madness as Shaadi assumed he would. Pegasus then saw Cyndia in a vision but seeing is not the same as touching and the vision went away. That vision gave him hope that he will see Cyndia again.
Over in Egypt Pegasus learned of the Yami no Game (Shadow game but literal translation dark game). He became obsessed with that power. He then created Duel Monsters in the U.S.. The only problem he had was with the God cards. He could not control them and had to take them back to Egypt and had Isis bury them. After that Pegasus decides he will use the power of the millennium items and Kaiba Corp virtual technology to restore his Cyndia. He sends the tape to Yuugi and defeats him in a Yami no Game. He then invited him to Duelist Kingdom by stealing Yuugi's grandpa's soul making it where can't say no to going.
Once there he makes them all collect starchips. Only people with the correct amount of starchips can go into the mansion. Kaiba is first after his near suicide attempt. Kaiba is no match for a guy with a millennium item. Bandit keith was a very sore loser. He first stole Jounuchi's entry card then when he lost to Jounuchi he put a gun to Pegasus head. Pegasus simply ejected him from the mansion.
Pegasus duel with Yuugi was perhaps his most challenging duel since and took a lot out of him. After his loss he went back to his room and was confronted by Yami no Bakura. Yami no Bakura told told him of his future and past by looking at his cards. If Pegasus had have been at full strength, he may have had a chance to defeat him. But since he was still weak from his previous duel he lost the Yami no Game with Yami no Bakura. In the Manga Pegasus is killed. But the Animators brought him back for that horrible filler series (Sorry Doma fans) and his soul was stolen by Mai.In the Manga perhaps he is finally reunited with Cyndia.
